Ted S. MacDonald, CPA, CMPE
Chief Executive Officer

Ted brings 25 years of healthcare experience to Amputee Associates. Most of his career has been spent managing large physician practices in many different specialties.   As CEO of The Surgical Clinic in Nashville, Ted was the first in the country to bring a prosthetic-only clinic into a physician practice.   This first-hand experience from a physician group perspective convinced Ted that amputees could get better care under the physician/prosthetist partnership model created by Amputee Associates.   He joined AA in late 2009 to lead the transformation of amputee care.

Ted graduated from Lipscomb University with a degree in accounting.  He is certified as a Public Accountant, Medical Practice Executive and Financial Planner.  He's held CEO and other senior executive positions for physician practices in the specialties of orthopaedic surgery, general, vascular & thoracic surgery, cardiology, radiology and ER medicine.   Ted held executive positions in a start up medical transcription company that was funded with $30m in venture capital to its eventual sale in two years for $400 million. Last, but not least Ted became a first time grandpa on July 31, 2010, when Elisha Drew Vernon entered the world.
